The reliability and validity of the translated Chinese version of Fall Risk Perception Questionnaire for Patients

Objective The Fall Risk Perception Questionnaire for Patients（FRPQ） was translated into Chinese，and its cultural adjustment，reliability and validity were tested，so as to provide technical support for patients’ perceived fall risk assessment. Methods Through translation，retranslation，cultural adjustment and pre-investigation of the English version of the FRPQ，the items of the Chinese version were determined. Using convenient sampling method，360 patients from a hospital in Zhejiang Province and a hospital in Shandong Province were selected to test the reliability and validity of the scale. Results The Chinese FRPQ contains 3 dimensions，which are consistent with environmental factor（13 items），personal-mobility factor（8 items） and personal-chronic condition factor（5 items）. The content validity index of the total scale was 0.867;the average content validity index was 0.909;the content validity index of each item was 0.860~1.000. Exploratory factor analysis used the principal component analysis to extract 3 common factors with a cumulative variance contribution rate of 64.229%. The Chinese version of the Morse Fall Scale was used as the calibration standard，and the calibration standard correlation validity was 0.577. The Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of the scale was 0.942 and the split-half reliability was 0.808. Conclusion The Chinese version of FRPQ has good reliability and validity，and it can be used for the self-assessment of falls risk perception of patients，providing a new idea for clinical fall prevention.

摘要：

目的汉化患者跌倒风险感知量表（Fall Risk Perception Questionnaire for Patients，FRPQ），并对其进行文化调试和信效度检验，为评估患者跌倒风险感知提供工具。方法对英文版FRPQ进行翻译、回译、文化调试及预调查，确定中文版FRPQ的条目。采用便利抽样法，于2021年12月—2022年3月对浙江省1所医院和山东省1所医院的360例患者进行问卷调查，评价量表的信效度。结果中文版FRPQ包含环境因素（13个条目）、个人活动因素（8个条目）和身体状况因素（5个条目）3个维度，共26个条目。全体一致量表水平的内容效度指数为0.867，平均量表水平的内容效度指数为0.909，条目水平的内容效度指数为0.860~1.000。探索性因子分析提取出5个公因子，经讨论后合并为3个公因子，累计方差贡献率为64.229%。以中文版Morse跌倒风险评估量表作为校标，相关系数为0.577。该量表的Cronbach’s α系数为0.942，分半信度为0.808。结论中文版FRPQ具有良好的信效度，可用于患者对跌倒风险感知的自评，从而激发患者对跌倒的自我防护，降低跌倒的发生率。
