Submitted manuscripts will be evaluated for their suitability for publication on the condition that they are exclusively submitted to the Chinese Journal of Nursing and have not been published elsewhere in any form. The journal requests that one author be designated to communicate with the editorial office regarding all matters related to the manuscript.
All submissions are initially screened by full-time editors. Manuscripts lacking originality, exhibiting major scientific or technical flaws, missing critical information, or unlikely to interest the journal's readership will be rejected prior to peer review.
Manuscripts deemed potentially suitable for publication in the Chinese Journal of Nursing are sent to at least two expert reviewers. These reviewers are selected by the full-time editors and must not be affiliated with the same institution as the authors. The journal follows a double-blind peer review process, meaning the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed from each other. The journal holds monthly editorial meetings in Beijing or other locations to make final decisions on the publication of manuscripts. These meetings are attended by the Editor-in-Chief and members of the Editorial Board. Reviewer recommendations (accept/reject/revise) are communicated to the corresponding author. When revisions are required, authors are expected to respond point-by-point to reviewers' comments and submit a revised version of the manuscript. This process may be repeated until the manuscript is deemed acceptable for publication.
Accepted manuscripts are further edited by in-house editors. Page proofs are sent to the corresponding author, who must return the corrected proofs within seven days. The entire process, from submission to final acceptance, is conducted online.
