Abstract:

Objective To explore the effect of virtual reality(VR) intervention on improving preoperative anxiety of adult patients. Methods We searched PubMed,Embase,Web of Science,Cochrane Library,CNKI,Wanfang Data from the inception to February,2022. There were 2 researchers who independently screened the literature, extracted information. RevMan 5.4 was used to analyze the data after the quality of literature was assessed. Results 12 randomized controlled trials were finally included, with a total of 1247 patients. The results of meta-analysis showed that the preoperative exposure based on VR technology[SMD=-0.45,95%CI(-0.61,-0.29),P<0.01] and distraction[SMD=-0.24,95%CI(-0.44,-0.04),P<0.05] could effectively reduce the preoperative anxiety of adult patients. Conclusion The preoperative VR intervention can effectively alleviate the preoperative stress of adult surgical patients by VR distraction or VR exposure.
