Research progress of fall-related psychological concerns among older adults

Abstract

Abstract:

Fall-related psychological concerns commonly exist among older adults,which poses a serious public health problems. 4 main concepts make up fall-related psychological concerns,including fear of falling,falls-related self-efficacy,balance confidence,and outcome expectancy. There are some confusions regarding the concept and measurement of fall-related psychological concerns in the literature. Consequently,greater attention should be devoted to investigating fall-related psychological concerns. Therefore,the purpose of this study was to clarify these confusions with a review,which may help medical staff better understand fall-related psychological concerns among older adults,and optimize intervention measures,so as to reduce the risk and occurrence of falls.

摘要：

跌倒相关心理问题普遍存在于老年人中,构成严重的公共卫生问题。跌倒相关心理问题主要包含4个概念：跌倒恐惧、跌倒效能、平衡信心、结果预期。文献中经常出现跌倒相关心理问题的概念、测量方法,存在混淆使用。因此,跌倒相关心理问题应引起更多关注。该文通过综述老年人跌倒相关心理问题的概念、测量和干预措施,以明确概念,帮助医护人员更好地理解老年人跌倒相关的心理问题,优化干预措施,从而降低老年人的跌倒风险,减少跌倒的发生。
