Abstract:

Objective To explore the application effect of the new ICU training program based on the role transition shock model. Methods A total of 100 ICU new nurses were enrolled in July 2018 as research subjects and were randomly allocated into the experimental and the control group. The experimental group was trained based on the training program formulated by the role transition shock model, while the control group was given regular training. The training effect was evaluated by the Transition Shock of Newly Graduated Nurses Scale(TSNGNS) and the 6-Dimension Scale of Nursing Performance(6-D). Results After training, the total score of the ICU TSNGNS and the score of each dimension in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05). For the 6-D,the total score and the score of each dimension of the ICU new nurses in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion The training program can alleviate the transition shock of the new nurses in ICU and improve their competency.
