Intimate relationship experience of patients with spinal cord injury：a qualitative Meta-synthesis

Abstract:

Objective To systematically synthesize qualitative research evidence on intimate relationship experiences of patients with spinal cord injury，extract core themes，and provide an evidence basis for targeted sexual rehabilitation nursing in clinical practice. Methods Computerized searches were conducted in PubMed，Web of Science，Embase，Scopus，Cochrane Library，CINAHL，CNKI，Wanfang Database，VIP Database，and CBM for qualitative studies on intimate relationship experiences of spinal cord injury patients. The search period spanned from database inception to August 2025. The Joanna Briggs Institute critical appraisal criteria for qualitative research were used to assess the quality of the included studies. A meta-aggregation approach was applied to synthesize the findings. Results A total of 23 studies were included，yielding 115 themes，which were organized into 7 categories and further synthesized into 3 core themes：the fragmentation and reconstruction of body image after spinal cord injury，the dynamic changes and positive reconstruction of intimate relationships in patients with spinal cord injury，and the insufficiency and mismatch of sexual rehabilitation support. Conclusion The intimate relationship experiences of patients with spinal cord injury exhibit dynamic development characteristics. Clinically，attention should be paid to patients’ cognitive restructuring，mutual adaptation between partners，and the development of individualized support systems for sexual rehabilitation，so as to provide comprehensive，multidisciplinary and whole-process care.

摘要：

目的系统整合脊髓损伤患者亲密关系体验的质性研究，为临床开展针对性亲密关系支持及性康复护理提供循证依据。方法计算机检索PubMed、Web of Science、Embase、Scopus、Cochrane Library、CINAHL、中国知网、万方数据库、维普数据库、中国生物医学文献数据库中关于脊髓损伤患者亲密关系体验的质性研究。检索时限为建库至2025年8月。采用澳大利亚乔安娜布里格斯研究所循证卫生保健中心质性研究质量评价标准对纳入文献进行质量评价，运用汇集性整合法对研究结果进行整合。结果共纳入23篇文献，提炼出115个主题，形成7个新类别，汇合成3个整合结果：脊髓损伤后身体意象破碎与重建、脊髓损伤患者亲密关系动态变化与积极重建、性康复支持不足与需求错位。结论脊髓损伤患者亲密关系体验呈现动态发展特征，临床需关注患者认知重构、伴侣双向调适及个性化支持体系构建，为患者提供全周期、多学科的性康复护理服务。
