Abstract:

Objective To explore the effects of application of experiential learning in training of protective constraint skills among psychiatry junior nurses.Methods The training of experiential learning was performed in 60 psychiatry junior nurses for 8 weeks,according to Perception-Experience-Sharing-Communication-Integration-Application. The nursing care behavior scale and patient care perception questionnaire were used to evaluate nurses and patients before and after the training,and the clinical practice effect was investigated after 3 months,compared with the same period last year.Results The score of nursing care behavior scale was significantly higher than that before the training（P<0.001）,and the score of patients’ care perception questionnaire was significantly higher than that before the training （P<0.001）. After training,the restraint rate of patients decreased,but there was no significant difference. The incidence of restrictive nursing complications was significantly lower than that before training,and the difference was statistically significant（P<0.05）.Conclusion Experiential learning can improve the ability of humanistic care,reduce the incidence of restraint and restraint nursing complications.
