Abstract:

Objective To construct an information management platform for arm infusion port and verify its application effects and provide a systematic management method for the application of arm infusion port. Methods In March 2018, an information management platform was constructed by a research team of infusion port information management platform, consisting of 6 modules including arm infusion port pre-opening assessment, port registration, maintenance records, statistical inquiry, out-of-hospital follow-up, and system maintenance. The patients with arm infusion port from oncology were selected from July to September 2019 as the experimental group using a convenient sampling method, and the platform was applied in this group for its management. The oncology patients with arm infusion port from April to June 2019 were allocated into a control group and managed by the routine methods. The complication rate of arm infusion port and nurse satisfaction after using the platform were compared between 2 groups. Results After the implementation of the information management platform of the arm infusion port, the incidence of complications in the arm infusion port was significantly increased (χ2=4.146, P<0.05). The nurse satisfaction score for the platform was (91.59±4.52), which was generally satisfactory. Conclusion The platform has good practicability, which is helpful for achieving the system management of patients carrying arm infusion ports, and providing data support for clinical research.
