Abstract:

Objective The aim of this study was to develop an item pool for nursing assessment in epilepsy, and to provide bases for making effective nursing strategies, and to provide diagnostic bases for clinical epilepsy specialists and electroencephalogists. Methods Initial indexes were generated through the literature review and group discussion, and 2 rounds of expert consultations were conducted to establish the item pool for nursing assessment in epilepsy. Results A total of 30 experts were included in the study. The response rates of 2 rounds were both 100%,and the authority coefficients of the experts were 0.90 and 0.93. The Kendall’s coefficients of concordance for the 2 rounds of consultations were 0.282~0.662 and 0.211~0.272. Finally, the item pool for nursing assessment in epilepsy was formed, consisting of 10 first-level indexes,33 second-level indexes and 28 third-level indexes. Conclusion The item pool for nursing assessment in epilepsy is scientific and reliable, which can provide theoretical references for the clinical nurses to conduct accurate nursing assessments and to develop effective nursing strategies. It can also provide reliable diagnostic bases for clinical epilepsy specialists and electroencephalogists.
