Abstract:

Objective To evaluate and analyze the effect of disaster preparedness training for nurses in emergency departments. Methods 265 emergency nurses were selected by convenient sampling. 20 qualified emergency specialists were recruited to carry out the training according to the primary trauma care(PTC) model. Guided by the Kirkpatrick model,a questionnaire survey, written test, scenario simulation, workshops and other methods were used to evaluate based on 4 levels, namely response level, learning level, behavior level and result level. Results The overall satisfaction score of nurses in emergency department was(8.68±0.83). The theoretical score of nurses in emergency departments after training (72.51±8.24) was higher than it before training (62.14±7.31) with statistical significance(P<0.05); the practical skill score after training (74.08±6.87) was higher than it before training (68.23±6.4),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). The average score of disaster readiness was(4.47±1.09). 116 people (49.06%) had high disaster readiness; 101 people (43.02%) had high coping readiness; 109 people (52.08%) had high disaster recovery readiness. Conclusion PTC model and covariant model are helpful to improve the training effect of emergency nurses’ disaster preparedness. After training, emergency nurses’ disaster emergency knowledge, special operation performance and assessment score of scenario model are significantly higher than those before training.
